We offer a range of services to long term care facilities, including medication dispensing in compliance packaging, timely medication deliveries, consulting services provided by experienced pharmacists, education and training for facility staff, integration with many eMARs and eHRs, therapeutic interchanges, and more! Each AuBurn Pharmacy LTC location has a pharmacist available every hour of every day. If you contact our pharmacy after business hours, you will receive an option to page the pharmacist on-call. Follow those prompts, and you can get your urgent questions answered or emergency medications delivered.

AuBurn LTC has processes in place to ensure patient safety, including:

  • Drug-Allergy interaction checking
  • Drug-Drug interaction checking
  • Compliance packaging to reduce potential for medication error upon administration
  • On-call services and emergency kits on-site to reduce potential for missed medication or delays in therapy
  • Facility staff training on best practices for medication administration

Yes, we can provide MTM services to nursing home residents. MTM services include medication reviews, drug therapy monitoring, and patient education to help improve medication adherence and overall positive patient health outcomes.

Yes, once you are an AuBurn customer, you will have access to the secure portal of our website, on which there are links to each LTC pharmacy and its pricing portal. You are always welcome to call your pharmacy team and ask their billing technicians for a price quote as well; this may be especially helpful for IV medications, which often require more than just the ingredients.

Yes, once you are an AuBurn customer, you will find our pharmacy policy and procedure manual on the secure, customers-only portion of our website.

Yes. You will likely get well acquainted with many of our pharmacy staff! Our consultant pharmacists may perform their regulatory reviews remotely if your medical record is fully electronic. However, our consultant pharmacists can still come on site to perform a variety of services, including QAPI attendance, controlled substance destruction, staff education, medication pass audits, etc. AuBurn pharmacists or trained technicians will also come on site periodically to perform audits of medication storage areas.

With USP 800 now fully enforceable, the pharmacy is NOT able to accept returns for hazardous medications. Our consultant pharmacists do have potential resources for you with regard to handling hazardous medications day-to-day. With regard to disposal, we would encourage you to reach out to the vendor you use for biohazard destruction, to ask about their hazardous medication disposal service.

AuBurn Pharmacy accepts all Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans. We also accept Kansas and Missouri Medicaid when applicable. Our billing team takes extra care when insurance problems arise, such as prior authorizations or medications not covered, to provide the best patient care.

Patient FAQs

Long term care pharmacy provides specialized pharmaceutical services to nursing homes and other long term care facilities in accordance with applicable regulations. Unlike traditional retail pharmacies, long term care pharmacies provide additional services, including the use of compliance packaging when dispensing oral medications, preparation and provision of IV medications and supplies when needed, consultant pharmacist reviews, access to emergency kits, and medical record support.

AuBurn Pharmacy accepts all Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial insurance plans.  We also accept Kansas and Missouri Medicaid when applicable.  Our billing team takes extra care when insurance problems arise, such as prior authorizations or medications not covered, to provide the best patient care.

New orders and refill requests are delivered the same day during normal business hours.  We deliver up to three times per day to each facility Monday – Friday and once daily on Saturday. We have emergency and STAT delivery when needed.  There are NO charges to the patients for delivery.

We offer 24/7 medication delivery services in case of an emergency. A pharmacist is also on call after hours and on weekends to answer questions, and provide medications in need.

Yes, you can! AuBurn Pharmacy has an online portal for bill pay.
